SOI Vet/School Campaign Headquarters,
Vets are still giving back! They are buying and donating a movie to schools as a Visual Aid during History studies on war! Veterans helping future generations of American students to know who the real Heroes were then and now! Vets from WWI, WWII, Korean War, Viet Nam War, Granada, Bosnia, Kosovo, Desert Storm, Afghanistan, and now The Iraq War, as well as every man and women who wore the uniform in between those wars or conflicts. They Are All Our Heroes Forever! A Brief Description of the Campaign: Veterans and families of veterans from anyone of our wars are invited to help the children of today know who the real Heroes of our country really are. There is an award winning movie made about children in the Korean War that can represent all wars and conflicts, all veterans from any branch of service, to the kids today. It is called: SOLDIERS OF INNOCENCE. You and I, the veterans or family members of veterans can donate this film as a visual aid to the 5-7th grades so that during their history studies about the wars, they can be introduced to the soldiers who served, one-by-one, so that they may know what we did for them. IF WE DO NOT TELL THEM, NO ONE WILL! If you buy and donate a copy of this film, your photo and biography will be printed on the back panel of the case given to the school and/or library of your choice. We want each veteran to be introduced in each 5th, 6th, and 7th grader in this country. Teachers need visual aids to help make the subjects more interesting so that they will have a greater and longer lasting effect on the child. For too long now, we have waiting for others to tell our stories, but no one has. Again, it is up to us to do that. Now you can toot your own horn to a new generation of kids, each and every year from now on! This is a worthwhile campaign that needs your help to be successful. Read on to see how you can participate! Why the movie SOLDIERS OF INNOCENCE? This is the last English language war movie made of the Korean War. In all of our wars or conflicts, from WWI through to the Iraqi War raging today, the Korean War was roughly in the middle of the list, the movie was made so that all ages could watch it. It does not pinpoint or highlight any one unit or branch of service. Instead, it deals with the fact that American Soldiers are there to help just because they are soldiers-that's what they do. The main character in SOLDIERS OF INNOCENCE could be anyone of our fighting soldiers from any one of our wars or conflicts. We, American Veterans, have given our time, our hearts, our souls, and our lives to the cause of freedom for this world. We did it then and are still doing it today. We do not want the future generations of Americans to grow up without knowing who we are and that it is largely because of us that they (the children of today) are free to live the lives they are living. We want them to know us, even if it is only one of us at a time. Who are the recipients of this donation? All 5th, - 7th grades (both public and private) their school libraries and each and every public library in each city and town in the United States of America. How can the Veterans donate this film? Each veteran or family member of a veteran can purchase one or more tapes and a school or public library in a city or town selected by the veteran (first come first serve), will be given that tape free of charge. When the teachers get to the part of American History studies that talks about one or more of the wars, they will show it in the classroom each and every year, letting a new generation of student see it each year. The public libraries will also allow the tape to be checked out by students and adults. Though most of our veterans will only place one tape/DVD, there is no limit to the number that they can purchase and donate. If you want two schools to know you, buy and donate two copies of the film. If you want more, buy and donate as many as you want. No limit. How will the kids know who donated it? On the back cover (DVD or VHS cases - see sample DVD Case Cover below) will have one or two photos of the veteran, one during his/her service and one of the veteran today or later in life. A brief biography of the veteran and a statement of what that veteran would want the future generations of Americans to know about him/her. The teacher will share the back panel of the movie with the entire class, year by year and will also encourage the students to write thank you letters to the veteran or his/her families. The veteran will also receive a certificate of donation from the Campaign Director identifying which school/library received the donation (phone and address of school(s)). This is our way of letting each one of the veterans that participate to be remembered on a 'forever' basis. Their little piece of immortality, if you will. How do we know that the schools will use the film as a visual aid? All schools in the United States, private or public, need donations to function properly. The school budgets will never cover all the educational needs of our schools. Teachers are largely responsible or at least are the only ones that do, see to it that they have some visual aids to help teach a particular subject. A movie to show the students as a supporting element of a history class is always welcomed by our school teachers and students as well. The movie does not have any offensive language, does not show 'blood and guts', but does show lots of explosions and action that will make the movie interesting to the student. It is a war movie about the children in war, more than it is about any one war. It is a perfect war movie to use as a generic pictorial of war to students. It is the kids in the movie that actually save the day, so to speak. We believe most teacher will happily accept this movie and aggressively use it. What do we mean by 'first come, first serve? The veteran can select which school or library they would like their tape/DVD to go to. However, if that school or library has already been covered by other veterans, that means each 5-7th grade class and the library of that school has been covered, then the Campaign Director will select the school for and on behalf of the veteran. In most cases, especially early on in the campaign, it should be easy for the veteran's selection to be the actual recipient of the donation. That should motivate the participant to buy and donate now. Copyright © 2003, BooksnFlicks.. All rights reserved. Site designed & Maintained by: Cyberpathway Internet Solutions |
